HELP hr/pay??

Hello,

I am a new grad that is being offered a position at a long term care facility in Indy. I have no clue what to ask for when it comes to hourly pay?? I have a meeting coming up with them and I want to be prepared. Any feed back would be great :)

This is just my opinion as I'm a new grad too, but when I was interviewing, I didn't "ask" for a certain pay. We really have nothing to fall back on in order to find ourselves in a position to negotiate pay. Most places will tell you what they set pay is and you take it or leave it. As I said, this has been my experience.

So much depends on where your facility is. We start new grad RNs at $25/hr for day shift but this is the Northeast and cost of living is high.

I'm in Indiana & new grads don't start that high here. I'm in a different part of the state so it may vary but a new LPN about $18 to $20/hr. A new RN about $20 to $22/hr.

Like an above poster stated, you're a new grad with nothing to bargain with. You can either take what they offer or hope for better.

Good luck

I live near Dayton, Ohio. LPN pay is around $17 to $20, RNs around $20 to $22

As a new grad RN at a LTC in California, I was paid $31 per hour.

I'm getting $35/hr doing subacute rehab in New York, as a new grad.
