Help! How did you pass Chemistry 1032!!

Published

I don't want to admit it but I am struggling tremendously with my CHM 1032 class. I've been told it's all about the professor and I tend to take that with a grain of salt, but in this case, I'm starting to believe that's the case. Although he is very smart- his teaching style and class has no structure. We are already behind on the syllabus and have been playing catch up. The study guides don't reflect the tests because of this and therefore we are being tested on things not previously taught.

So, with that being said I'm at the point where I need to teach myself and get a tutor help.

My question is has anyone else been in this situation? I am one semester away from applying and NEED to pass this class even with the odds against me. Any studying advice; note taking; websites, etc that are recommended is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried Khan Academy? They have videos for practically every concept in chemistry. Also, most colleges offer some kind of free tutoring on campus. You should also try and meet with your professor with any questions you may have. Often, if they see you putting in an extra effort to learn, they are more willing to help you out if you're on the edge of the next letter grade at the end of the semester. Make sure to do your homework/practice problems beforehand and go to him with all of the questions that have come up. Stay after class and ask for more help on concepts you didn't understand during class.

You can also PM me if you need help on any specific questions. I've taken up to Organic Chemistry 2 because I thought I was going to be a pharmacist :)

Who is the author of your textbook? I thought Tro was easy to read and comprehend.

I'm not sure, but my dilemma is more of I'm not sure what to study and what's going to be covered on the test.

Is CHM 1032 a general chemistry class?
