I'll admit I struggled with math in nursing school, and it didn't matter who tried to explain it to me it just made it worse, but with alot of hard work I got proficient at it. Of course I didn't know about allnurses.com at the time......

I'll save you alot of clicking and give you the links to the 2 websites that were the biggest help to me (they are in the link Daytonite posted):

http://www.manuelsweb.com/nrs_calculators.htm

http://www.accd.edu/sac/nursing/math/default.html

Here's a tip, don't be lazy and just plug the problems into the calculators, use the formulas provided, work it out & use the calculators to check your answers

To paraphrase a very dear instructor I had: "MEMORIZE THE FORMULAS DUMMY"

In the first problem,..she used the 20 ml rather than the 1 ml (20 ml was the entire vial amount rather than actual dose per ml).

Whew, I remember in school I had such a hard time with those type of problems, now I love them. I wish I could set it up for her on here, but it never looks right once I hit "post". hmmmm.

I always used dimentional analysis.
