Help with a Health Promotion Project

Hi,

We will have a project our last semester that will be a 20 to 30 minute Health Promotion that we have to present to a targeted audiance. Can you help me come up with some ideas that might be different from the ideas that everyone else in my class might come up with?

We had to do the same thing, my project was last month. I did promoting healthy lungs. I targeted teens because they're influenced by family, friends and the media. We had to do a display board and everything and had them displayed in the lobby at school....it was a big deal, lol. Other topics I seen was healthy skin, healthy hair, safe sex, healthy heart, healthy bones, healthy babies.....can't think of any more. Anyway good luck!

We just did a project like this too! We didn't have to do an actual presentation, we just did poster boards and set them up in clusters for people in the nursing/pharmacy building to come check out and ask us questions about. Our group did swine flu (which got really old really fast haha), but other groups did healthy bones, MRSA, how to deal with stress, all sorts of different nutrition things, breast cancer, babies, autism.... they were really creative about it, so I'm sure you'll come up with a great idea! I remember doing this ... but it was geriatric focus ... we did Wii and "fitness" ... notice the quotes LOL ... we were a huge hit when we got some of them playing.

Edit: people are really interested in ------ current ------ information about alternative medication (herbs/acupuncture/etc)

Car seat safety. There's a lot of stats out there talking about how there's a very high percentage of car seats that aren't installed to the manufacturers specifications.

I love the car seat idea, but how would be learn the correct way to install them and so we would know for sure that we were doing it correctly?

I'd do a web search....there are organizations that certify car seat technicians. I'm sure an organization like that could (and would be happy to) help you out.
