I was told that US economic crisis greatly affect my chance to be hired as staff nurse. I'm a Filipino with immigrant visa holding U.S. RN license. I'm looking forward to work in any US territory. I feel I'm less fortunate to have job offer.:o:o. I was trained in middle east for quite long mainly in general surgery & I recently resigned because of a promising job in U.S.
I may lose my green card because I just can't easily squeeze into a job. Presently under contract w/recruitment agency & they are asking me if I can find a hospital. Is there anyone out there willing to help? Presenting my profile in a hospital who are in need of staff maybe of great help.

How did you get your GC? If you got this with an agency then it is their job to find you a job as they stated this for immigration. You should have had a job when interviewed by the embassy
I don't have formal placement when my visa was issued. The agency is trying to find me a job but I wasn't oferred. I'll be release by them if I can help find a job for myself or if I can pay out my contract. I don't have in hands w/such huge amount. I hope I'll be hired in US.
Thank you.....

Your green card never should have been issued if there was not formal placement for you in the first place. The employer is required to submit documenation to the US government that they actually have work for you. Some how it looks like you slipped by.
And most importantly, you should not have to look for your own employment; that was their job. If they cannot do it, then you do not owe them one single . Do let them tell you otherwise. That is just pure garbage. They signed a document with the US government that they have work for you, or they are legally responsible; not the other way around.
It is going to be very hard for you to get hired here at this time since you do not have any work experience in the US; and this goes for the US territories as well.
If they try to pull any funny things with you, they need to be reported to the Attorney General for the state where their head-quarters are located. You most definitely do not need to give them one cent.
They belong in the Hall of Shame.:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire They should be put out of business for this type of behavior as well as fined by the US government for falsifying documents to them as well.
When you do get enough posts to use the private message function that we have here, please do send me their name. I want to make sure that no one that I know ever considers using them.

I feel so bad for you. You did all the right steps and it seems like the agency made promises that they can't keep. As you can see the USA is going through horrible times and nursing positions are getting impossible to find. The sad thing is you resigned your position and now you have nothing. Suzanne gave you good advice file a compliant with the US Attorney General of the State.
Also in the future never resign one position until you have a letter from the hospital confirming a start date.
