Wondering if it is okay to run 2 incompatible solutions. One will be in the 1st lumen the other in the 2nd. We are 99.9% positive that we can successfully do this. Please advise!! Is it true that this is the rationale for even having multiple lumens? PLEASE ADVISE! We are at work and waiting for an answer!

You need to call the pharmacy. If it isn't open, then page the pharm on call. Last, but not least, infuse separately if there is ANY question.

Yes, they are completely seperate lumens. But like the above poster said you should call the pharm. There are very few meds that should not be ran at the same time as anything else....especially ones that may cause a reaction and if it was being run with somthing else you wouldnt know which was causing the reaction.

Yes, double lumens can be run with different solutions per lumen. Each lumen enters the vessel at different levels so they do not interact.

That is why we love our double lumens...we can run incompatibles at the same time!
