Help dosage problem?

A physician prescribed accutane 2mg/kg/day po twice daily for a 110pd teenager with acne. Accutane is available 50 mg tablets. How many tablets should the physician instruct the teenager to take each dose?

i know you convert 110 to 50kg. So do I multiply that by 2mg and get 100mg? What about the twice daily?

100mg/day DIVIDED into two doses daily = _____mg/dose.

110/2.2= 50kg*2mg=100mg/2=50mg/50mg= 1 tab is that correct?

A physician ordered ampicillin gram 1 q12 hours for a 110 lb teenager who acquired an infection when he stepped on a shell at the beach.. Ampicillin is available in 500 mg capsules. What will you administer per day?

110/2.2=50 kg*1000mg? I'm stuck

I don't think you have to worry about the weight conversion to kg as it isn't mentioned in the problem. How many mg in 1 gram. Then you should now how many capsules you need.

It's NOT 1g/kg. Generally after age 12 most drugs are not weight based.
