Help with Critical Commentary

I would really appreciate some help on what to / what not to include in a critical commentary. I have been asked to submit one as part of my port folio for APEL, I have been asked to consider me as a Ward Manager and me as a Clinical nurse.

I'm not sure which is the best way to approach it - first I started off with headings and short statements of my role and achievements. Then I started padding it out and find it may be too long and I think I may be putting too much in as it is repeating other sections of the port folio.

It is one part of four module outcomes "criticaly think and anaylse through reflection" I am drawing on past events but I fear I may be making it too personal like a reflective diary and I'm not sure if this is what is required.

Many thanks in advance.

When it comes to critical analysis, this is what I do:

Take a positive and a negative. Say which one you chose and why(reference). What would have happened if you chose the negative(reference)? What conclusion do you draw from all this?(reference)

That's the simplest explanation of critical analysis I can think of, and what's required of us as 3rd year students.

perhaps you can apply this to what it is you actually do?

I found an article this week by Hough, found it useful for reflection, also have one by Gopee that was very helpful but not very recent. Will try to upload them.

Thanks both for your input and the attachments. I think I'm getting stressed out as I'm conscious that I can waffle on and a lot of what I have included is also repeat in other bits of evidence. I think I'm going to cut it down a bit as it is quite a long piece. Jane
