hi just_cause and nurse2033,

i am looking into army and navy nurse corps. i would like to speak with both branches and see what happens from there. i am a little partial to navy, but only because i have had 2 uncles that are navy veterans (and of course "that's the best," according to them). i do want some more info about the army though, because if i get in and decide to go career, then it would be nice to be able to work at fort carson at some point. some info about me-i am going to graduate with a bsn in june and wanted to get the application process started. i know that it takes a long time and that right now it isn't as easy to get a spot due to the economy, but i really want to go into military nursing. i expect that i will try and find a job after i graduate and get some experience until my application is processed, but at this point i'm not even sure of what kind of timeline to expect. also, i went to the army office in my city and they were trying to get me to enlist as a medic or something. heck no, i did not go through my bsn to be a medic!

thanks for all your help, it is much appreciated!

i'm in the ang so i can't help you with the army. you are correct though, do not enlist! you will be officer material soon so hang in there. i do know that we have shorter deployments than any other branch, if that is important to you. let me know if you want any more info about the ang. good luck.
