HELP!!! California License waiting time after submitting SSS???

I did not received any reply from California Forum section so I decided to post another one in here, I hope someone knows the answer...

I passed my NCLEX-RN two months ago but since I do not have SSS, they just gave me a letter asking for my SSS.

I recently got my Social Security Card, I mailed the Letter together with my SSS just last Monday.

How long will it take to get my CA License? Thank you in advance for the reply...

Actually when I called them last week,they said that it takes 10days to get actual license.

But at the same time,you should check your name on the web.

Please try this.Online will be faster than mail.

Just to clarify, it is SSN#, Social Security Number.

Did you receive CA license or plastic card 3 weeks later after you submitted SSN???

I hear that first of all, we will receive a plastic card ,which is also license, and then we will receive big one.

Yes that's correct. First is the license card that looks like a credit card then the big one is the certificate stating that you are authorized to practice as a nurse in california.:monkeydance:

The large one is something that you leave at home, any employer wants to see the card that you always must carry with you.

And if you are desparate and need it quickeer, you may go to the BRN in Sacramento and get a temporary license immediately if you need it to begin work.

Yes,I was going to go to Sacramento.

But yesterday when I called Ca board of nursing ,they said that as long as my RN licence number has not been issued yet,I am not eligible to apply for temporary license.

Therefore,if someone moves from another state to CA,this seems to be fine because their license number has been already issued by another state.

I realize that I just have to wait.........................

I am an RN here in the Philippines and would like to work in California since my relatives are there. I don't have SSN yet and was wondering if I could apply for an SSN even I am still here in the Philippines to get my license? If it is possible could you please share how to start applying? Thanks...

You can only apply for a SSN# if you are an immigrant.
