World Registration

Published

Hello Nurses,

Good Day! ☺

May I ask if what is the best for the nurse like me who wish to take the nclex for the first time graduated 4 yrs ago, if going to a review center to start and refresh me is the best action for prep or a self-review will do? Hope there will be a similar case with mine which will advise me and enlighten me. I would highly appreciate your kind help.

I would like to take an NCLEX under ArizonaBN. Does anyone has a good and big heart who wants to share ideas with me or related case as mine? I really wanted to hear such things and could follow. Please Help. Thank you in advance to a kind heart.

Kind Regards,

Bia Grefiel

Hello, thank you for the information. Do I still need to take EILTS even if my subjects in college has been taught in English? I just had requested a certificate of English Proficiency from my school. Does this suffice to an english language requirement?

Thank you in advance for your reply soon. :)

If I were you, you first check the State BON requirements.. On your case Arizona Board of Nursing then comply all requirements.

Check this Licensure by Examination FAQs | Arizona State Board of Nursing

read and comply requirements under: Foreign Educated Applicants (Including Canada and Puerto Rico)

View Foreign Educated Requirements for application requirements. See above link.

Requirements for Applicants Educated in a Foreign Country (Including Canada and *Puerto Rico)

Foreign Educated Professional or Practical Nurses Must Meet the Following Requirements (1 through 4):

Validation of Educational Requirements

Validation of English Language Skills

Validation of Practice

Passed NCLEX-RN® or NCLEX-PN® OR State Board Test Pool Examination (SPTPE)

IMPORTANT: All information from any of the selected agencies listed in #1, Educational Requirements and #2, Language Validation, must be sent directly to AZBN from the agency.

1. Validation of Educational Requirements

Request an application from Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools International (CGFNS) to obtain one of the following:

CES Professional Report.

Verification of VisaScreen ® Certificate.

Verification of CGFNS Certification (Option not available for practical nurses).

OR

Request an application from International Education Research Foundation (IERF) to complete an educational equivalency report.

OR

Request or download an application from Educational Records Evaluation Services (ERES) to complete an Education Equivalency Report.

OR

Request or download an application from Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. to complete an education equivalency report, specifically a ‘licensing for nursing, basic report'.

OR

If educated in Canada, have the Canadian licensure board submit a passing score on the English language version of the CNATS or CRNE (Canadian Licensure Exam) AND verification of Canadian licensure status directly to AZBN.

Exception – RN endorsement applicants who have completed their basic nursing education in a foreign country are exempt from the educational requirement if they have obtained a BSN or graduate degree in nursing from an approved program in the United States AND worked at least 960 hours in the five years prior to applying for AZ licensure, but they will not be eligible for a multistate compact license without a credential evaluation service report addressing their basic nursing education.

Are you also a Filipino Nurse or a graduate from the Philippines?

I am a Canadian nurse, I have worked with IENs throughout my career and have become familiar with the licensing process for IENs by talking IENs and by reading posts.

Check coz it seemed that Arizona requires Validation of Practice.. So you better call Arizona Board of Nursing to ask and clarify. In my own opinion the sequence is better accomplished as follows.

1. Validation of Practice

2.IELTS exam-you may also ask what kind of IELTS exam do they require.

Research and read about IELTS.There's 2 types so better ask BON.

3.Then ask to confirm with BON the CGFNS requirement coz there's CES which will only validate and verify your credentials such as your TOR from the Nursing school & if you have PRC Nurse license from the Philippines if you have license there. Also your high school diploma but if you have high school diploma you can mail a PHOTOCOPY to CGFNS.

I am a BSN from Philippines and I am RN there. Now here I am starting all over again. It is HARD.Been out of school for 9 years but I hold on to that even I am out of school for 9 years I was performing 60 plus percent in Saunder's test before I started reading again..

Thank you for the information Ms. Phat. I appreciate it really. ♡

I'm honestly completely lost. I dont know which states I should apply. First, I have to obtain 960 hrs of practice to comply the first requirement coz I didnt practice as a nurse yet.

Aside from AZBN which state may do not require SSN, wherein a foreign fresh graduate could take?

Welcome! I know how it is coz I myself is having a hard time. Search the State that do not require SSN.It is available online. You just have to search all the information you may need.

I actually dont know where to start. I have a first choice in Arizona. But i dont think if they require a SSN. Just emailed them for the confirmation and waiting for response. But they require a validation of English Language. I dont think if they still need a EILTS even if my school issues a certificate of english proficiency. Also they require 960 hrs of practice. So since i did not practice yet ever since I graduated so I meed to obtain the required hours in order to comply. It's gonna be like 5-6 months for sure. My second choice state is may gonna be NY or texas if they dont require SSN.

So hard í ½í¸© Need long patience and prayer.
