To all nurses here in Chicago, Illinois, I really need your help, I'm so stressed and confused about the application for NCLEX. I'm a registered nurse in Philippines, I just passed the NLE last year, 2010. And now I'm applying for NCLEX. I'm here in Chicago right now. I already applied in continentaltesting.net and they sent me an email:
"You need to complete the following steps to finalize your application. All Foreign educated candidates must submit a CGFNS or CES equivalency certificate. Information can be obtained at http://www.cgfns.org
All Candidates must submit an original fingerprint receipt. Appointments can be made at IDENTIX Identification Services 1-800-377-2080."
I just want to ask:
a.HOW TO APPLY FOR CGFNS
b.Do I need to take the TOEFL exam?
C. What is CES in CGFNS?
d. What is Visa Screening?
PLEASE HELP ME I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP. Just tell me what to do. THANK YOU

Just go to the link they give you for CGFNS and you should find where to go for CES report. There is a handbook there that you can download giving instructions on what to do. VSC is only required if you are the main applicant for work or immigrant visa. If you are in the US with a spouse visa that allows you to live and work then a VSC isn't required
Thank you for the reply. :) I have an immigrant visa, I'm still confuse about CGFNS, I visited their website and I can't understand the steps, on how to apply. Do I really need CGFNS, TOEFL or BOTH? Before I take the NCLEX? I just need a guidance. I just arrived here in Chicago last March 2011. And I really don't know what to do. Thanks.
Hi, How come I can't apply for CES in CGFNS website?
You can apply for CES on the CGFNS website. Looking at CGFNS website they only accept online applications for CES from this year http://www.cgfns.org/sections/programs/ces/
You do not need VSC if you have an immigrant visa. English exam will depend on the state and yes we have had members post that they have immigrant visa but still required to meet English requirements for the state they was applying to
I already read all the steps in that website, but there's still bothering and making me confused about the questions that I need to fill up, in the application form they're asking "HOW MANY YEARS I HAVE WORKED AS RN?" And I need to fill that up it's REQUIRED, but I don't have any experiences yet as an RN, nor I have not worked as an RN yet. That's my problem. Thanks.
If you have no experience then you put zero (0)
I already did that but the site keeps on posting INCOMPLETE, but I rechecked it all the time from the start, and completed all the required info.
