Help!! Any Nursing School Advice in Buffalo NY

Published

I am presently finishing up my pre reqs

I hear different stories from different schools in the Buffalo area. I was wondering if you have advice on where you went, and how you liked the college. I was considering Trocaire and NCCC...

Thanks so much

Currently a student doing my prereqs at Trocaire. I think the instructors are great. I start the nursing portion in September. I cannot wait! Trocaire is on the expensive side, however, you pay for what you get. Classes are smaller, avg 15 to a classroom. Came from a community college with over 30! Instructors know who you are and how you work. Very personalized. Do not know anything about NCCC but I wish you the best of luck, and if you choose Trocaire, look forward to meeting you.

I no longer live in the Buffalo area but went to ECC city. I think it was a great program with great instructors. This was 2 years ago, so I don't know how it has changed. I was going to go to trocaire, but the spot opened up at ECC and I couldn't pass up the price difference. I heard that NCCC is also good. It is all about what you can afford, and how far you are willing to drive. Good Luck!

thanks so much for the advice. ECC requires an entrance and an exit exam for Nursing. I do like the idea of smaller classes. But at the higher price tag, I will have to think about it.

Do you know the percentage of Nurses passing the boards from any of these schools?
