Help!! Any Nursing School Advice in Buffalo NY
thanks so much for the advice. ECC requires an entrance and an exit exam for Nursing. I do like the idea of smaller classes. But at the higher price tag, I will have to think about it. Do you know the percentage of Nurses passing the boards from any of these schools?

Niagara County Community College
I am at Erie Community College now, but found the waiting list way too long. So I thought, I'll go to NCCC in the fall. Anyone can tell me who the best instructors are there for say Microbiology? This was an old thread and I was wondering how the Nursing program there is now, anyone have experiences they'd like to share. Trying to decide between ECC and NCCC Thanks

~~~A&P 1 (winter/spring) Club~~~
Just finished my first AP I test, It was much harder than I thought. I have decided the words "this may be on the test" means nothing. Just study it all! I think I got 4 wrong which would still give me an A, but I want to argue a couple questions I know about. Like if someone asked you what is dialysis for? you would say the kidney right, so isn't dialysis doing the same job as the kidney? Oh well silly how if you study really really hard you just expect to know ALL the answers. Duoh!
Pre-nursing students with ADD
I agree with all the posts I have ADD, and also am back in school 20 years later after realizing why I did so badly previously. One thing I can tell you is this with meds. You can focus on the subject and not give up. Without, unfocused and give up first let down. I tell people it's like driving around in a car with a dirty windshield you can see, but not easily. When you take your meds it's like nice clean windows and clarity. If you want to get through with ease see a doc, it's pretty easy to be diagnosed just some tests etc. good luck and go for it
my Mother-in-law who is turning 67 tomorrow, inspired me. She is in her third semester to be a Surgical Tech. She's getting all A's, doing surgery clinics and loving it!!
Trying to decide whether to take AP II in the summer session
Yes you have to have all that Math and English here too. I just had it from previous college. I was a journalism turned Pschy major so I have all the required courses that way. Ya know all my life (I'm 39 now) I thought I wasted my time in college, but now when I am doing what I really always wanted, it comes in handy. Funny how God works things out huh? Best of luck to you too. And thanks so much for the advice.
Trying to decide whether to take AP II in the summer session
I'm sorry I phrased that wrong. They would look at the AP II score, if I had it, but you only need AP I and to get a good grade to be admitted into the program. Which I should be accepted into the program before I even take AP II am I confusing or what... I was applying to a Nursing School here that had 100 seats available and about 600 applicants, they wait with a 4.0 (which is how you got in) was about 3 semesters. Then I applied to a Nursing school with no wait and 250 seats. It winds up it is closer to home and has a better rep...
I am in AP I, I really feel like I know things pretty well. If my hubby quizes me, or I do practice test no problem. My scare is I can't spell some of these terms easily. I have a learning thing going on, but wondered if anyone has any advice on how to work on spelling all the terms. I mean simply leaving out an i or an odd a or e...that's what messes me up HELP any advice would be so appreciated
Trying to decide whether to take AP II in the summer session
Thanks for the advice, I think I am going to take it. It is mid-summer and will get me reviewed up and ready for the fall instead of leaving my brain out in the sun all summer. It is 6 weeks, but my hubby can help with the kids... The Nursing program will only look at the AP one, I am taking now for my entrance into the program, otherwise I'm all set. Here's an interesting thing that worked for me. I had taken some college course around 15 years ago, didn't do great with C's etc. BUT, come to find out your GPA is wiped out after 10 years. The classes still transfer, but my GPA is totally on what I am doing now. If I get a 4.0 in AP, I have a 4.0 GPA isn't that wonderful???
Trying to decide whether to take AP II in the summer session
I am taking AP I right now... I would appreciate any advice on taking AP II in the summer. I am starting Nursing in the Fall. I have everything transfering from previous college except the biologies. Would love to start the fall with both APs under my belt. But do I want to take AP II in 6 weeks? Or should I just work it into the fall schedule???? Thanks I LOVE This website
