Hello

I am currently here in Canada. I just recently passed the RPN. I previously work in NJ as a Nursing Assistant and would like to move there again. Does my Canadian license qualifiy for a reciprocity in NJ? Thanks for any info you can give me

Sorry, but no. Canadian licenses no longer have reciprocity, you would still need to take the US exam, and since you would need a Visa Screen Certiifcate for the NAFTA TN Visa, you will need to have RN after your name to qualify for that.

Work visas are only issued to RNs as a green card.

Hi Suzanne!

Thank you for your prompt reply. I have another querry though. My husband is currently working in the US and awaiting for the approval of his labor certification. He also included us in his pending employer based petition as dependents. In case this got approve, does my education in Canada qualifies me to take the RPN licensure exam in the states?

In that case, yes; since you will not be applying for a visa on your own. You will be issued a green card, based on your husband's employment, and not yours. That is the only way that you can do it.

Thanks Suzanne4 for all the info..I really appreciate all your help. Now I know how to go about my plans in going back to the US.
