Hello from Michigan!

Hi everyone!

I just found this site by accident and I love it!!! I wish I had seen this site a year ago, before I started taking all my preqs at Baker College.

I applied for the program, but was not accepted. I have a question for anyone who knows what to do now??? I am now attending Macomb community college and will take the Hesi test in December to try to get into their program for fall of 09' and I am also going to retake the NET test at Baker to get a better percentage than I received the first time. (I received a 76% out of 80%) and reapply to their program also...Plus I am also attending classes full time to receive my CNA certification so that I can get to work somewhere since the loans are needing to be paid now while I wait to accepted to a program. So my question is am I doing right??? Where do I go from here while I am waiting...It has already been over six months of me not doing anything.

Thanks so much and sorry so long of a message!

Welcome, will move this to the pre student nurse forum and hopefully you will get the answers you are looking for

Hello from Michigan, also! There is a Michigan nurses forum, also, if you wanna check there, too :)

Anyway, I am in a similar situation myself. I started at MCC and then transferred to take my prereqs over at Baker, which is the program I am shooting for. I am taking Macomb's HESI in December and Baker's NET next fall.

Unfortunately, whatever college you choose to go to for nursing is going to be very competitive and may take a couple of years before you are able to get in. There is such a shortage of nursing instructors right now that many schools are turning away completely competent students because there just isn't enough instructors to teach everyone :(

Apply to as many programs as you can, try to be confident, and stay positive. You will get in eventually. Don't feel alone because there are so many of us who are right there with you :)
