hi there letina

i was wondering if it would be okay for me to pm you or to email you?? i saw that you had written this:

please......do not believe what this agency is telling you. i was a community nurse in the uk and was also told by a certain agency i didn't stand a chance of getting a job in the us unless i went back to an acute hospital job. i had been there, done that, years before, but they (the agency) said i would have to have more recent hospital experience. so i decided not to sign up with them and fast forward.....here i am working as a us rn.

in one of the forum members posts and well i had a few queries myself about finding work in the us that you may be able to answer as they are similar to what was being discussed in that post...

Yes, it was OGP who told me I had no chance of getting a job anywhere in the USA. I had several conversations with someone called Gary, he was adamant my skills were not "current" and would be wasting my time unless I got myself back onto a hospital ward.

I am more than happy to shout this out for all to see.......

O'Grady Peyton......you were wrong!

I originally was with OGP then met husband so left them (hadn't passed NCLEX at that time failed it twice) when we decided to give it a shot as a couple I approached OGP and they wanted a fair few ££ before I sign up with them so went alone but someone did ring and mention that I wouldn't be able to get work due to working in the community and had great pleasure in telling them I had a job and had no problems getting the job :D

Hi

Yes OGP told me that I would need to go back to ITU and work at least 30 hours per week for 2 years. Plus they were going to pay around $20 an hour. I would have had 10 years ITU experience by then!

Adevia recently told me that I might be able to get a job if I was lucky but they would need to review my CV. They also failed to tell me that there was a backlog on Green Cards when I asked a direct question about time for green card as I have NCLEX now.

Trust me they do things differently here you have to learn a new way of nursing when you get here. So as long as you can nurse you dont need to be dynamic, just a good nurse
