I am new to Houston, I am looking to enroll in a LVN program, could someone give me some info of some the LVN programs in the Houston area. I live in the Kingwood area. I also will be returning to school after 20 or so years after High School, any advice on what to expect? Thanks

:balloons: Hello and Welcome to Allnurses.com:balloons:

Good luck in school.

Kingwood College has an LVN program that starts every Spring and Fall semester. You may want to check them out. If you rush you may still be able to apply for Spring 2006.

I went back to college after I had been out of high school for 20+ yrs. I have been an LVN for 15 yrs. I won't lie- it's been tough. I had a hard time with the Algebra. I can do drip calculations and drug dosages at work but I don't CARE WHERE THE TRAIN WILL MEET IF ONE IS GOING NORTH AND THE OTHER SOUTH. Because I work full-time, I take day classes so I am older than most in the class. However, "non-traditional students" (you and me) usually do well in class because we are more mature and manage our time well. We are dedicated and serious about our studies. Going back to school has been rewarding for me. I am being a great role model for my 13 yr old daughter- hopefully she won't have to worry about paying a mortgage and taking finals at the same time! You can do it! Good Luck!!

I thank you for your encouragement, I will definitely have to do my best not only to help my children financially but also be a role model to my two daughters as well. Thank you again
