Ok, I know that all the new grads are in the same boat as I am. I have applied everywhere, I kid you not (with the exception of Bronx). You name the hospital or nursing home, I have put in my resume and cover letter to them (and that's if they're taking BSN RN's). I have emailed, telephoned, contacted and networked through people I know and yet, only a few responses and interviews. The job search is awful. I think it's bad, but the shutdown of two Brooklyn hospitals has made the job search horrendous.:uhoh21:
Literally, the search feels like this: :smiley_ab :yldhdbng:
Feel free to share your slow job experiences and yes, successes too please! Ranting and raving welcome.

Grilla, agreed. At least we will be well prepared for interviews now and down the road with all the legwork we're doing now. A positive out of a negative situation :) Let me know if you get the job!
Gauze, thank you. It's hard sometimes but you know this. The interviews keep rolling in and I'm grateful because even if I do not get those jobs, when the one I'm supposed to have (Lord willing) comes along, I'll be well prepared and will interview extremely well :)
Happy, congrats to your part-time job! That's great! Yep, perserverance I do have thankfully and I have been in contact.
Durable, I have really thought about doing that myself. Good for you taking the initative (sp?) to do so. THANK YOU. The experienced nurses were once new grads. I don't think people think about that like they should.
EvanMiffy, thank you for the advice. Unfortunately, I am tied to being in one of the boroughs since I have grandparents residing in midtown. But, I will scope that avenue.
I scored an interview with one of the main hospitals in the city due to extreme perserverance. Wasn't a positive experience initially, but I stayed open to the possibility of the job, and it worked.
Good luck to you all and please, continue to update!
