Hello
I'm to do an assignment regarding treatment plans similarities/differences of the pts on the unit with a diagnosis of HF. Most all of the pts are on Synthroid. Is there a correlation that you can think of pertaining to HF?
Thanks in advanced

Not really.
In a few cases, maybe their meds are off, their synthroid dose is too high, and so it sends them into heart failure. An adverse reaction is edema, but again I think this is due to improper doseage. Otherwise I know of no correlation.

Fighter, the relationship is simply that these are usually old folks and multiple organs and glands are failing.

Maybe it just so happen that your current patients are all hypothyroid. One of the essential components of HF is cardiac remodelling. Increasing thyroid hormone thru an exogenous mean may increase ventricular wall thickness which will worsen HF.
