Healthcare Essentials course, where?????

U.S.A. California

Does anyone know where I can take a Healthcare Essentials course in San Diego? I have to take this class to meet all my pre-reqs for any public LVN program in the area, and I just can't find any HCE courses. If you know of one please help!

We have LVN students from Kaplan at City College. I thought it was WASC accredited so I guess I could be wrong. hmmmm but they are at City.

maybe they are accepted into city college because they already have their lvn license and their prereqs done. so they are pretty much just doing the lvn to rn bridge...

If that's the case, then I "should've known." I'm going to schedule an appointment with a city college counselor so that I can ask about this, and if they do admit students based on their LVN licensure, and licenture ONLY, then I might just go for a one year LVN program at a private college. Since I'm gong to finish up with my CNA class and become licensed as a CNA (if I pass my state test on Dec 18) then I'll have that as a job while attending LVN school. I should probably start looking into loans b/c the cheapest LVN program I know of cost somewhere between 25-32.

hey check out the link here for city college http://www.sdcity.edu/nursing/Default.asp .. i think you can apply to city as long as your lvn license is from an accredited school ...

Did you get in? I showed up on registration day and there was a really long line. I didn't get a spot in the class, but then I called and they told me that they were gonna open a new sesssion in February.

hey what time did you arrive to the registration day? i am just curious. i am in san diego looking to register for healthcare essential class.

I showed up at 7:25am, it's a good idea to show up at 5am that way you're sure that you get a spot. What school were you planning to register with?

Hi,

I am thinking to register to the National City. Their registration will start this Monday March 8. I told my husband that I want to be drop off to the school at 3am so for sure I can get the spot and we have 3 kids. I really want to go back to school. I am so tired of being at the house for almost 6 years now.

Oh my, 3am! Wow, you will get a spot for sure. That's the school that I will register with for the healthcare Essentials course this Monday. Which class are you taking (schedule?) I hope I get a Monday, Wednesday from 10am-12pm, or something close to that timing. Do you already have the books? Well I guess I will see you there! Goodluck with your future goals!

Hahaha yes I am hoping to get a spot! My brain is really bored at the house. I really want to study!!!......I want the 5:45pm to 9pm because my husband will be home by that time and he can watch our 3 kids. I do not have the books yet. I will just bring $25 for the books. Do I have to bring anything besides the $25?
