Health Unit Coordinator

Hi all!

I am currently a pre-nursing student waiting to get into the nursing program. I have already completed my NA training, but have not yet gotten my certification.

I am thinking of applying for a part time "Health Unit Coordinator" position. It requires formal training in health unit coordination or equivalent experience in a healthcare clerical setting. I currently work in a managed care company working with claims, so I thought 5 years experience with that as well as my NA course would possibly qualify me. What do you think? I figured it was worth a shot.

If I were applying for a Health Unit Coordinator/ Health Unit Tech position, what do you think would be the most important qualifications in a candidate from the employers perspective? Attention to detail, team oriented, etc? I am trying to find some good things to put on my resume/cover letter. Any help is appreciated!!!
