Hi! This is my first year as a school nurse and (as my screen name implies) I am a former teacher. I work at a career and technology high school and my principal would like me to teach health lessons in all of the career and technology classes. Some of them are easy, but there are a few classes that I have no idea what topic I should teach. Any ideas?
Architecture
Audio Engineering
Film
Education
Computer Maintenance/Internetworking Technologies
Automotive
Law Enforcement
STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics)

Does he want generic health classes or customized to each major ie. Architecture: skeletal, muscle and ligament for structure, Audio Engineering: the ear, etc.?

Do the health topics have to be relevant to their major? I mean there are a lot of times that you learn things that are just general knowledge type things that are life lesson type things that all people should know. Disease transmission, first aid, cpr, self care, hygiene, sex ed, and so forth.
If they have to be relevant to their major, that will certainly be more of a challenge - law enforcement may be a bit easier (disease transmission comes to mind) than film

^^This. Though lessons on emotional health can be applied to any major/profession! I'm teaching emotional health to my 9th graders now. This week talked about communication, next week conflict resolution. First aid classes can also be applied anywhere...really, health goes anywhere!
