Insurance generally isn't cheap- do they have a group policy for students? You might find out on your first day.

I thought you could buy Kaplan test books......maybe wrong- but check Amazon (better price than school bookstore, usually).... other NCLEX study guides would be similar- but a LOT of what's in there isn't stuff you're expected to know now- and could be discouraging... see what the instructors suggest :)

I had health insurance thru the school for awhile. It was fairly inexpensive and met the requirements for the nursing program. Have you checked with the university to see if they offer health insurance for students?

Most schools do have some sort of minimal policy to get you by. Ask administration or your college health department.

I use a company called Student Assurance Services. It's an inexpensive supplemental/accidental insurance for college students provided through my schools health department and it is sufficient for the nursing program. I'm not sure of the exact website but you should be able to pull it up through google. Good luck in the nursing program!!!

How old are you?

Federal Law allows, or will in the future allow, children up to age 26 to remain on their parents' group policy.

Illinois has allowed this for a few years now, so check your state law.

The National Student Nurse Association has a group plan for members. It is not great coverage at ALL.....but it is pretty inexpensive (relatively speaking of course) and meets the general requirements of most programs.
