What a cool position! I would think they are looking at % of kids on free and reduced breakfast lunch (indicative of financial challenges and food insecurity), % of kids who are under immunized (lack of access to PCP), % of kids with discipline issues and what they are, reports of bullying, etc
Keep us posted please!
This looks like a great idea!

Our public health department (who employees me and provides school nurse for all schools in town) recently hired a Health Equity and Social Justice specialist. She is going to be visiting all the schools for a minimum of three days within the next few months to get to know us and the culture of the school. As this is a newly created position, I am not sure what types of things she will do/ interventions she will offer. Does anyone have a position like this in your district and can you tell me their role?
