Health Assessment by Sharon Jensen

I am an Nursing student taking a health assessment class. We are currently using the Sharon Jensen " The best practical approach"

I was wondering if anyone has used this book in their program?

So far it has been the WORST book I have ever read!!!!!

I have been an LPN for 10 years and deceided to go back for my RN and how found that this book not only UNCLEAR, but it is highly INCONSISTANCE within almost every chapter.

The text information does not match up with the tables, which dont match up with the questions and answers!!!!!!

The explanation of information is very unclear and varies from different chapters!

The LPN program from 10 years ago had a better assessment book!

I feel bad for the nursing students that are just learning ALL of it!! its confusing and half my class is failing the class!!!!

Well, that's a fair and unbiased poll. If you have concerns about the textbook, have you discussed this with your instructors? If they never know what students think about the texts, there is no information to consider about changing it.

Unfortunately, I had to use that text in my program. My alma mater no longer uses it due to student/instructor complaints about the problematic contradictory, inconsistent, and confusing nature of the text. Provide feedback to your school with *specific* problems in the book and hopefully you will save future students from having to endure it.
