HCC Coleman Nursing Fall 2019

Is anyone applying to the nursing program at HCC Coleman? I am applying, but wondering if anyone has positive reviews from this school. I haven't seen any when researching. Also my rubic score was 79, kind of nervous about that regarding the competitiveness.

Anyone know if they allow ebooks ?

Yes, you have the option of getting the textbooks as ebooks.

My second semester has been over the summer, so the material is condensed into fewer weeks, and very challenging to keep up with. Both my lectures are on Wednesday. My med surg clinical is a 12 hour shift at LBJ on Saturdays, and my pediatrics clinical is an 8 hour shift on Mondays. The pediatric clinical has been at three different locations (TCH, YMCA daycare, and simulation at school).

Would it be possible to not have any weekend clinicals? Would they work with your schedule?

Some people have ended up with no weekend clinicals, but it is random, and they won’t let you choose your clinical days.

Overall, do you feel that the program has improved based on previous negative reviews and history? I applied for the program, but I was skeptical because I was not sure if I was wasting my time. Dont want to spend 2 years in school to hardly pick up on skills. I appreciate your feedback!
