  1. I received an email and voicemail for an offer on 07/16.
  2. I applied to ICU for Memorial City and no news. I am also getting disheartened especially bc it is the weekend, even though they say interview notifications until Sunday.
  3. I still don't see any news about ICU Memorial City, TMC, or Southwest. So maybe that is still a good sign for those of us who are waiting...
  4. Has anyone heard or have appointment for ICU at Southwest and Memorial City?
  5. I think because I am still new I am unable to send private messages so I can ask more. Will have to post on here to communicate. Appreciate the openness!! @Ortega20 : thank you for the reply and giving more info ? @ Mawern: thank you for responding and adding some more insight ?
  6. could you share what your schedule is like for clinical and nursing class?
  7. Hi prospective nursing mates! Just stopping in to see how the journey is coming along. Very excited for all of us ?
  8. Could anyone in the ADN program let me know what your schedule for lecture and clinical is? Do you get to choose your clinical days? Any information on this would be really appreciated.
  9. Hi RN2B23. Since you have been through HCC program can you tell me what the schedule was like for classes and clinicals? If anyone else would like to add information that would be great. I am looking to see how to arrange work schedule to fit with nursing school; so just want an idea.
  10. Just came back to thread to update. Last week, I applied for admission into PVAMU and sent out my transcripts. Right now, I am in the process of completing pre-requisites. My science courses have expired; so I am taking A&P 1 + 2 over the summer. Then in the Fall... Microbiology, Chemistry, Economics, and Government II. For the Hesi A2, I will need A+P and Critical Thinking. Hopefully, I will be ready in October to test. If anyone comes along later, join-in. I hope we will share in this admission experience together and be able to be a team while in the program.
  11. Thank you so much for the reply, Jenncw21! From what I am reading.... there are no weekend clinicals/classes?
  12. Hi Jenncw21, What was your class schedule like for the LVN-RN transition at Alvin? I am an LVN and wondering how flexible the program is with Alvin. I want to do nursing school but also need to keep my employment. Any information you have would be appreciated!
  13. Hi Amandalee1210! Welcome to Texas. From my Houston experience, the new LVN grads that get hired immediately are ones that are already employed within a clinic / healthcare system, and they have certification such as CNA, Med Aide, Phlebotomy, OTA, etc. Also keep in mind that brand new grads are competing against experienced LVNS who may be applying for the same position; so employers may not feel the need to train. Have you tried Home Health? I know a few Home Health companies that hire brand new LVNs and pay 20-25+ but offer no benefits. You could always get foot in the door with Home Health and then reapply a year for a healthcare system or your choice SNF. Other option is to negotiate less in pay to get the opportunity. Employers will take that into consideration because profitable for them. I hope you find what you are looking for and I wish you luck! ?
  14. Hi HowdyHowdy! Thank you for the reply. I really appreciate the information. That is awesome to read how the weekends are free / optional. I am coordinating my work schedule to fit with nursing school. Right now I am working 16hrs of Sat + Sun and researching for nursing schools that have primarily Mon-Fri classes - clinical. If I have a weekend clinical, hopefully rare and would be using PTO. Monday is going to be brutal but that's what coffee is for, right? ?
