Hi all, I applied to the nursing program at HCC for spring 2010 and I was wondering if there is anybody who might have done the same thing. At this point I'm extremely anxious trying to find out if I got accepted or how long will it take for them to decide it??? Does anyone know anything???? I appreciate any replies. :uhoh21:
two questions!
where do you find the status for health/science applicant? i'm new to hawknet so i'm not sure where to look for it.
and what is everyones gpa's? just curious to see what i'm up against!
definitely not excited about having to wait even longer to hear back. this is the only thing i've got going for me right now and the wait is killing me! i'm sure i'm not alone on feeling this way.
my friend with a gpa of 3.67 got the rank your campus letter today, however I did not (gpa of only 3.38 due to 10yrs ago college, though I have a 3.9 in all sciences)
so i'm wondering if that means I am not on the short list. I'll give it till the end of the week and if I don't receive one, well let's just say I'll cry.

You are the second person whom I have heard talk about record enrollment and higher gpa. We know that this Fall, the floor/base gpa was around 3.4. Based on what you are saying, the gpa would be around 3.5 and that is scary, especially for a community college. GPAs below 3.5 are still good but may not be good enought. I just looked at the schedule for Brandon and Ybor City's microbiology and ap 1 and 2, they appear to be around 90 full with most closed out.
I heard that South shore would be taking 26 students this year and if PC and DB usually take 60 that would mean a total of 150. Now, if what you heard in orientation pans out, that would mean around 700 people applied. I don't like those odds. It is making it almost impossible to get into nursing with public colleges being so competitive and so few slots and even with private schools causing an arm and a leg.
