HCC Applicants for Spring 2010

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi all, I applied to the nursing program at HCC for spring 2010 and I was wondering if there is anybody who might have done the same thing. At this point I'm extremely anxious trying to find out if I got accepted or how long will it take for them to decide it??? Does anyone know anything???? I appreciate any replies. :uhoh21:

just a record. i couldn't find mine so i did titers

Have anyone started to read the assigned chapters sent out in the email yesterday? I think it was 6 chapters and also the clinical stuff...it looks to be quite a bit.

yeah, started & not even done w/ chapter 40... it is a lot of chapters. I hope that it will not be like that every week! Were we seriously to read all that by Tues/Wed?

Hi there,

Congratulations to all of you on getting in!! I hope it is going well for you all. I am NOW in the (RIDICULOUS) application process and hope to begin the program in August. I am hoping someone might be able to help me.

My first question...

I turned my application in over a week ago and under "My Documents" on Hawknet, my transcripts, application, etc. show up, but then the status is listed as NOT RECEIVED. Is this normal? The deadline for this application period is TOMORROW...and I can NOT get a human on the phone!!

Next, is a silly question... What type of shoes are required for clinicals? I heard they must be ALL WHITE...but I just found a pair of Nike Shox for a REALLY good price. They are ALL WHITE, except for the shocks..which are very light silver. Does anyone know if they will be allowed? I am even considering having the shox "painted" white if I must. What do you think?

Thanks in advance for your help!:)

Were going on the 2nd week of clinical labs and the instructors did not check our shoes. One student has white Nike Shox. Good luck on your application! My academic advisor/counselor was able to follow up on these things for me(thru email & phone calls). As far as transcripts if the A&R has your HS transcripts that is ok. But for me I submitted my college transcripts to A&R and included it into my application package. Best Wishes!

Thank you SO much for your response!! I hope all is going well for you in the program!!

Take care!

Hey guys! We are in our last semester! NP4

If anyone has any study tips, please post.

Hi everyone! Congrats on making it to NP4! I am starting NP1 in January and I was wondering if you guys would be so kind as to let me know if there was anything from A&P that you had wished you had brushed up on before school started. I've heard fluids and electrolytes and I am already going through the first 8 chapters of my calculations book. Is there anything else you wished you had reviewed when you still had the time before school started? I'm trying to organize some study sessions with my future classmates and would love some advice on what you guys would think would give us a leg up. I know you guys are probably extremely busy in NP4 but any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!
