HBU or UT-H? BSN

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello

I needed some advice

HBU's bsn program is easier to get in, compared to UTH, but very hard to stay in

They have these rules like where if you don't get a 75 or higher on the final exams, you get dropped from the course and the entire program. And every semester they make you take a HESI/nclex type of exam and if you don't make a certain grade, your out.

Now if someone was in hbu's bsn program one semester, and gets in ut-h's program later on? Should they leave HBU and go to UT-H's program?

How good of a program is UT-Houston's? I know that they were #1 best bsn program in texas and #19 best in nation in 2010, and their graduation rate is about 98%. So would i be better off there, rather than HBU?

The thing is, HBU's supposedly promises that they help you prepare for interviews and find you jobs in the area/field you want to work in, so that by the time you graduate, you have a job.

Does ut-houston's bsn program offer the same? Do they help you with that stuff as well?

Most schools have those same rules. San Jac went to that this semester and you cannot pass with out a 75 and there is a HESI exam for most courses. No nursing program will be easy.

I'm a bit biased because I did my MSN at UT-H, but both are top-notch programs. In terms of versatility & wider access to academic resources, UT-H comes out ahead because of location & cross-enrollment benefits/shared resources with the other schools in the UT-H Health Science Center (Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health).
