HBU Nursing program spring 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys! Just wondering if anyone else has applied to the HBU nursing program for the spring of 2015? I'm so excited and nervous! Does anyone have an idea of the usual scale of GPAs or Hesi scores that are accepted at HBU?

Congrats on your acceptance! I'm SO excited and nervous!! I am def interested in a study group for Christianity courses as well as nursing. I'm going to go in for advising and see if I can sign up for any of the Christianity courses before the nursing classes start in January.

Thanks congratulations to you too! Do we see a nursing adviser or a regular adviser? I wouldn't mind doing a mini semester before January. I was told for the mini semester it's better to do the New Testament because the Old Testament is a lot of history. Did you take the reading proficiency test yet?

I think we would need to see a regular advisor for that, but I'm not sure. I'm new to HBU so I don't even have a login ID/password yet to register for classes. And I agree, it would probably be easier to take New Testament in a mini-semester, and maybe take the other ones during the summer. I hope they are offered online. It said on my acceptance letter that I needed to do the reading proficiency test, but when I dropped it off I asked Ms. Luksetich how to go about signing up for the test and she said not to worry about it?

Really? I was told that every student who comes to HBU must take it. I will be at the school Wednesday so I will speak with an advisor too. Maybe we can sign up for the same classes. Let me know what the advisor tells you.

Will any of you ladies be going to SOAR on November 21st? I'm hoping they can help me sign up for the classes I need for nursing school, because I also don't have a login ID yet

Maybe she meant not to worry about it right now, they just seemed more concerned with the immunization stuff getting done ASAP. As soon as I figure out how to register for Christianity classes I'll let y'all know! I think they will go over how to sign up for nursing classes at the Mandatory Orientation on Dec 8.

What is SOAR? I haven't heard anything about it, I'm open to going though! I really need to get more familiar with HBU so I want to explore the campus. Lol

Hello everyone. I wanted to wish you all the best of luck. My hubby and I decided that Alvin is a better route to take than HBU financially. I purchased an access card to do the computer proficiency test for HBU but will no longer be needing it. Let me know if you are interested and I will be happy to sell it at a discounted rate. Take care guys!

SOAR is a welcoming orientation for most students to HBU, I think they show you how to sign up for classes and stuff. I'm not sure if I'm going to go, since we have our own nursing meeting on Dec. 8

Hey there all! I am applying to HBU for the Fall 2015. Is there anything you can tell me about your experience at HBU so far? I have tried to start a thread for Fall 2015 but no one has responded :(

Hey there Chancec13!! HBU is great! You really become a family with the nursing staff and with the other nursing students! The teachers are very passionate in what they teach and they all want us to pass! We're not considered numbers at HBU, the teachers know us by name and they offer us the same respect we offer them. I highly recommend HBU, they have a great nursing program! I hope you get in! :)

Thank you for responding! I just got my letter of acceptance!! I guess I'll see you in the fall !!!! :woot:
