I just watched the show "Hawthorne" on the TNT channel. It's a new drama about nurses. I liked it... It seems to be a realistic portrayl of what nurses do. I'm glad there's finally a show about nurses. Nurses deserve immense respect for what they do...They're equally important as doctors imo. Did anyone else watch it? What did you think?

I haven't watched it only because I don't like Jaeda Pinkett Smith personally. I want to see the other show that's on HBO with the woman from Sopranos. That looks better.

I like Hawthorne it is a realistic show about nurses. I dont think that the showtime show nurse jackie is very good. she is a drug stealing, cheating on husband, lied on her student nurse. It does not depic nurse postively.

I think that Nurse Jackie will probably have better ratings than Hawthorne. While it might be the better betrayal of a nurse, people like comedy more than drama. I think they are both good and no one should take either as a specific portrayal of nurses because they're tv. Even with Hawthorne I still think nurses will be underrated because people just have their set stereotypes that all nurses do is clean up after people and take orders from doctors.

Nurse Jackie needs to have some morals, Hawthorne is a good start needs a nurse consultant for the show though.....
Do you know Jada Pinkett Smith personally? Watch the show, you will like it better than Nurse Jackie. Pretend she is someone that you like...
I was surprised that Falco played this role, it is like an insult after the Sopranos for her. Everyone has to eat and pay those bills I guess...

I really enjoyed HawthoRNe. I was genuinely interested like last week. I also watched Nurse Jackie last night for the first time. I was DISGUSTED by her. I hope there aren't too many nures out there like her. Cheating on her husband at Noon in the hospital, her attitude, the drug habit. I was just overally unimpressed.
one thing I did not like was the nurse giving the male patient a genital massage...
I walked out of the room on this part, and when I came back she was saying something like "all done, or thats better". I was like huhhhh??? lol. I was thrown off.
I don't have Showtime, but the commercials for Nurse Jackie look weird. The show is weird b/c they seem to focus on her drug addiction to draw viewers in. I like the compassion that's portrayed in Hawthorne. The show actually shows what nurses really do--like when Jada Pinkett's character (her name is Hawthorne) supercedes the doc's medical advice and refuses to give up on her patient and even disagrees with the doc...I think that's more compelling b/c ppl may be curious to know what it's like to work as a nurse in real life. Maybe both shows will do well, I don't know, but I prefer Hawthrone b/c it seems realistic. Jada Pinkett also stated in an interview that her mother was a nurse, so maybe she asks her for guidance...
Wow that seems gross. That nurse ("Nurse Jackie") could be sued for sexual harassment if she did it in real life, very unprofessional. From reading that, it doesn't sound like a realistic portrayl at all...
