Hawai'i Nursing Programs

Published

Please tell me, how does anyone normally afford to attend either the University of Hawai'i OR Hawai'i Pacific University nursing programs (either undergraduate or Masters level)?

To do this without going broke, are students: Part of the elusive 1% of society? From a family where mom and dad foot the bill, but are depleting their savings to do so? Saddled with astronomical debt?

Do you currently attend either of these schools? If so, ho do you afford to pay for it?

In 2015, the University of Hawai'i's direct entry masters of nursing program was $92,040 for the pre-licensure year, that amount is tuition only.

Scratching my head... I am so confused as to who can afford these tuition fees.

You are speaking to out-of-state tuition fees for the pre-licensure year. Would you be able to live in Hawaii prior to applying? It's an expensive program, no doubt about it, but I afforded in-state tuition by taking out loans and have paid back nearly half already (not even two years out). It *can* be done. And by those *not* in the 1% and *not* having schooling paid for by their parents.
