I'm an experienced nurse and even I'm having trouble finding employment in the city. I recently had an interview in the hospital I really want to get into. It was for a unit I have experience in (Telemetry) and I still didn't get the position I feel discourage and almost want to give up looking for a job in the city.
It's a real life hassle getting into public and private hospitals. I have expanded my job search beyond the hospital and that has posed a challenge as well (since these organizations are asking for one to two years of "clinical" experience). My advice like everyone told me here is not to give up. Keep applying and trying.
I agree with the comment with looking beyond the hospital. New grads are always looking for hospitals; meanwhile hospitals are looking for nurses with experience. When I was a new grad, I accepted a position as a RN in a LTC facility, gained some experience and it open the doors for me to be considered at a hospital. Any experience is better than NO experience. Its better for employers to see that you have worked as a RN rather than have no experience.

Anyone know of any hospitals looking to hire new graduate nurses? I've been applying everywhere for about 6 months. I've recently been on 2 interviews. I'm waiting to hear back from the one I really want. I need to apply to as many places as possible.
