Haven't heard back on a job application.. is this a good sign?

Published

I hope I don't jinx myself with this, but I applied for a job at a facility in mid April (4/14 to be exact) and have yet to hear anything back.

This facility is also really good about sending out emails if not considered for a position. I have applied a few times before and always got a "thanks but no thanks" email.

The interesting thing is that between 4/14 and now I have applied for another open position at this facility and I got a rejection email for THAT one but not the one from mid April.

I called the recruiter on 4/27 and left a message but she never got back to me. I plan on calling maybe late this week or early next week again just to see where I stand. Unfortunately, I cannot check my application status online.

Do you guys think this is a good sign that I didn't hear back yet?? I hope it is!

If any recruiters or hiring managers could weigh in on this I'd appreciate it!

If you applied online, you have to set up an account and it will show the status of all your applications for that hospital/system. It will say something like "Application received", "Not being considered", "Actively being considered". I had many that I got no response from them and had to go to the job website and look at the status of my application.

I have an account with the facility as I have applied many times but admittedly I am not 100% on how to navigate it  I'll have to try and log on and figure it out. Thanks for the suggestion!

I've gotten rejection letters 6+ months after submitting an application lol. Every place that has offered me an interview has called me within a few days of getting my application. As a general rule, at least.

By apply, do you mean you submitted an application? Or did you actually interview? Either way, I hate to say it but usually they move a little more quickly, if they are considering someone for a position.

I just applied, no interview. I've been keeping an eye out for an email but so far nothing. I have a friend from nursing school tell me that when she applied at this facility and got an interview the whole process took a while so I'm still a little hopeful but I'm not holding my breath haha. I guess I just got excited because every other app i submitted to this facility was met with a courtesy email within 10 days so going on a month is abnormal. Either way, I have been applying for other open positions at this facility and others in the area. Thanks for your response!
