OK friends of the home health world.... Have you had any problems with inputting new codes into Haven?
Example: The new codes for decubs replacing 707.0 now reflect a more specific number beyond 707. to distinguish where the decub is, however.. we have all the new code books, and when an attempt is made to enter one of these codes it gives a warning message.. Thus, major annoyance as to why this is so, if the right codes are being used.
We had this with a few other codes as well...
We called Haven to inquire... The Haven people said that they "have not updated their software to the new coding books", and the drop down boxes they give are seldom correct.... When asked why they aren't updating, they said "because it is too expensive to change the software"
I could not believe this... CMS/Medicare make the rules... Haven makes our source of transmitting, and forces us to send inaccurate data, because they are not updating the system? I just don't get it......
Anyone else with any similar problems??

Home Health Line had an article about that last week.
Powers forgot to change Haven software. From article, they don't intend to change it till sometime next year .....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
