No, can't say that I've counted our stats. But sending people home is a good thing, isn't it?
Yes always good when they go home............I was just amazed by how many people have come through the doors in such a short time.

LTC can be a real revolving door.
What always amazes me is watching an entire group of residents start failing together, becoming total feeds, losing mobility, then dying, then a new group comes in, more A&O, mobile, feeding themselves....

I work active treatment. Don't get me started on the number of people who are sent to us to die, from home and LTC. We're not miracle workers. If you've kept your elder at home for the illness, let them die in peace in their own beds. We've literally admitted people to our unit to have them die within two hours.
Ask us about bed blocking due to the lack of LTC beds. 118 days is not an acceptable stay in Active Treatment but families have realized that their elder gets placed faster from Active Treatment than from the Community.
I have never heard the term active treatment what is it?
