Nursing Students General Students

I've heard through the grapevine that some of the faculty at our school made special efforts for the people that failed this summer so that those people would pass. Meaning they dropped some questions off the final just for the people who failed to help some of those pass. Also it seems the faculty is going to go back through all the test taken and see if there are anymore points that can be given. The point being that they are only doing this for the people who failed. I ended up with a high B in the class and feel that if they are gonna make special efforts for some of the students, they should make it for all of us. It could mean an A for me in the class and several people could benefit from it. Thankfully our class president is going to the President of our nursing program and speaking on behalf of all of those who passed and is gonna fight for all of our test to be reviewed. Truthfully I believe they should never have given any more points to those who failed and we should all just live with the grades we have already. What do you guys think about this?

We have lost about 7 people out of 40 going into the last semester. More than a few of these lost people were dropped because of just being short a point or two overall. I can't imagine the program would ever just decided on a whim that ONE semester they would do something special for just a few people. They would have to go back and do it for all the people who failed out of our class the last three semesters, and then risk being sued by past classes who also weren't given extra points to pass. When you set a standard you have to maintain that standard for EVERYONE.

My nutrition professor told me that a couple of years ago our NS had to lower their admission standards because not enough people were passing the HESI. Which I think is just WRONG! Yes, a standard should be maintained for everyone.
