Has any gone through JTCC Hybrid program?

Hello everyone,

Has anyone been through the John Tyler Hybrid Program?

I will have to continue working and throught that the flexibility of the program would be great.

I'm still taking online Pre-Nursing courses now and in the Fall and 2 co-reqs in the spring.

I hope to apply at the beginning of 2011.

The last post on this was in 2010, is there anyone currently/recently enrolled in this program that can provide some updates?

Because I have a 3 day work schedule I was going to do an evening lpn program through Henrico County & Bone Secours(but it just got canceled) and then the evening LPN-AAS bridge through j. Sergeant Reynolds..

But now I'm reconsidering going straight RN and wondered if this program is still viable for those of us working?

I am currently enrolled in it, classes start next week. I'm hoping it works out well, I've spoken to a few nurses that worked through it and my advisor says it's possible as well you just have to be highly organized and disciplined (especially if you work at the same time) I also recommend getting all of your Gen Ed classes out of the way before beginning the nursing curriculum so that when it begins you aren't trying to balance NUR classes with work and a random algebra or computer class on top of it. That's what I"ve done thus far so that next semester all I have to worry with is NUR 111 and Health Assessment. Hope this helps and I"ll update once things get rolling!

It's hectic but I love it honestly. We started clinical last week so we're now getting the chance to practice all the patient care we've been learning the past 8 weeks. The teachers are incredibly helpful, they want you to succeed, but you've also got to help yourself. I highly recommend a study group or at least a study buddy because it is a high volume of material and having someone to commiserate with and talk out concepts and scenarios with his incredibly helpful. Study hard and be as prepared as possible for labs! Good luck!

Hello....first let me start by saying congrats!!!! I got accepted into the traditional track Spring 2017. I am excited and I know from previous experience that it will be challenging, yet rewarding. So for the first 8wks we have lecture and lab totalling 4 days and second 8 wks lecture and clincal?? Still confused sorry

Anyone who has recently gone through the program can give me an example of class times and how many days per week you need to have available for class/lab?

Hi I read through this post and just wanted to see if anyone that completed the program had any feedback I got accepted into the hybrid program and start in August 2019 ...just wanted to make sure I'm making the right choice from the two schools I got accepted to thanks so much
