  1. Thank you, LillyBug for letting us know!
  2. Check today, (Sat) and see if anyone dropped. I really hope that you can get what you need!! Maybe you can talk to our nursing advisor and get direction from her.
  3. Congratulations, Saharamichael on your progress through the program! I have tons of questions! Would you mind answering some for me? I registered for Hybrid track classes after midnight but I didn't get the same clinical/lab sections as a friend of mine so I was little bummed because I was hoping we could study together. Did you form a study group from students in your class sections or did you find students who lived close by your home? I live over an hour away from the school. I heard that the "Hogan" books are helpful in studying for the NCLEX and the textbook study guides are not as helpful. Did you find this to be the case? Did you concentrate more on the powerpoints or book reading? Do the instructors let you practice your skills until you get them right or are you limited to a certain number of tries? I guess I am the most uneasy about the clinicals and getting the proceedures done correctly and safely! I think that I can handle the gross stuff though. Any imput would be appreciated :redbeathe
  4. Hi Studentsara, I'd be interested in joining your group. :-) I'll try to e-mail you my addy. I might be wrong...but I don't think we are supposed to post our e-mail addresses on the boards.
  5. Thank you StudentSara, I'll have to check out the reviews and see what I come up with. Someone told me that GRx CD27 was a good one.
  6. Hi everyone, I was wondering how many students are waiting to buy the box of books with the nursing skills dvds and evolve select or how many students will just try to find everything used and not use the evolve select feature? Also, the choice of stethoscopes is very large! How may students plan to buy a brand other than littman? Thank you in advance for your input :-)
  7. Thank you Sarakaut for your helpful response about the physicals.:)
  8. Hi cfleharty, I'm glad that you are getting a study group together. From what I am hearing, study groups can be very helpful when dividing up chapter objectives and such. I'm going to try to find one a little closer to Amelia and I may need to just form one out here. How many of you are in the HDEP program? It looks like I'll still be traveling to the school 4 days a week :-( . I'm getting ready to have the physical. For those of you who have had it does the Dr. check all those boxes for functional abilities? Also, do we females also need to get a pelvic exam?
  9. Hi Sarakaut, FB sounds like a good idea but in the orientation one of the nursing instructors spoke out against it because pics and other stuff were posted without the instructors knowledge. Maybe with some guide lines they might be more receptive to the idea. I was hoping for a study group for projects, research and exams. I do fine studying by myself but I thought that we could encourage one another and work together. I am hoping that I can find at least one person that is not too far from my area.
  10. I had (moderator edit of name) for Bio 142 and I thought that she was great!
  11. Hi everyone! I got in too with out a 4.0. I had a 3.987. I'm in the hybrid program and I looking forward to a study group. I live in Amelia.
  12. Hi Bipity, Thank you for your response. I just got accepted into the JTCC program which I heard has a better reputation. Hopefully, I can get through it! A friend of mine said that a quarter of the class dropped out so that is a little better than half.
  13. andersonsg, I have one more question if you have time to answer. Which books do you use in the first semester and then the second?
  14. andersonsg, Thank you for such an informative response. It is nice to know what I would be getting into. Right now I'm taking 3 classes on line and I'm doing well but it sounds as though I will have to go onto campus more often. I normally work 3 times a week, sometimes four but not usually for a full 8 hours. I'm sure that the Hybrid program is harder. I went to an all day A&P lab and got so much out of it because of the lecture and the hands on component (not just reading) I'm way out in the coutry so mileage and time builds up quick so that is why online was so alluring. I wish you the best in the program and you can do it with only two more semesters to go after this one. ;-D
  15. Thanks for explaining that to me. There is a book that I may check out that has some drug dosage calculations in it so I can get a taste of what I will see later. On Allnurses there is also a page that has links on it and I will check it out as well. Thanks for all your help! :redbeathe One more question, did you have to get all of your books new (for the access codes) or were you able to get them second hand? The sociology class that I just took you had to have the code to access the publisher's website to get worksheets, quizes etc.
