Has anyone worked for the military as a civilian nurse?

What was your experiance? I am specifically interested in anyone's experiances overseas? Did you take a family with you? Did the experiance help build your skills or was it totaly different than working stateside in the public/private sector?

I worked to Second General Hospital in Landsthul, Germany and had a wonderful experience. I thought everything would be very uptight, but found the focus was getting the patients taken care of...period.I highly recommend it if you can get a job.

"if you can get a job." --how do you get the job? DOD? Can you give us some details about living quarters, transportation, hours, their needs?

Wow...I did work the NICU, but your are about my age so you couldn't have been one of my babies.
