Has anyone worked with Future Search Canada Inc.

They are supposed to help with relocation and reimbursements for individuals in health care. Sounds good in theory and very tempting but has anyone used them and if so what was your experience. Does anyone know if they are reputable? Has anyone been to Canadavisa.com? Is that a good site for immigration information?

Its said on the canadavisa forum that a fresh graduate of a nursing program can go to canada and work as an LPN using temporary license etc. Is this true, does anyone know? This guy even said fresh grads can come in as immigrants and not on work visas. How true is that? Or is this just a scam?

None of that is correct.

So much is incorrect in your information.

There was ONE batch of nurses brought from the Phillipines to Alberta to work as LPNs.

It was due to the fact that they were hired before their education was fully assessed. After assessment, it was found that their BScN was roughly the equivalent of the two year diploma of Practical Nursing issued in the province and did not meet the requirements of the BScN issued here. The nurses in question required a lot of remedial skills work once they hit the hospitals here and they were all experienced RNs from the Phillipines.

It is highly unlikely that this will ever be permitted to happen again as the recruitment drive by the health authority in question cost a lot of money to the taxpayers of the province.

From what has been said at work, the nurses are on a two year work permit which requires them to return to the Phillipines at the end of the contract. They cannot change employers nor can they remain in the country if they cease to work for the health authority. The are NOT landed immigrants nor do they receive citizenship.

The health authority appears to have paid all of the fees in question.

hi holyhell! where are you right now? did you apply in canada already?

Nursing In Canada is quite familiar and complicated process. Each province mandates its own policies and regulations.

Each Regulatory Boards responsible for the practice of nursing, mandates its own requirements.

E.G. Quebec - requires French, Ontario - requires Bridging Program.
