Has anyone used an Essay Editing Business for their App Essay/Personal Statement?

Published

Hey guys!

Here's another question. Has anyone paid the $75-$150 to have their application essay(s) checked out and edited. I still write all 3, and they keep my words and my voice, just fix any transitional errors, synatic errors, and delete things or reword things they find confusing.

I'm honestly thinking of this just to be on the safe side. This is my one shot to get into the dream school, and I think it's worth it. I was just wondering if anyone here had used one before and what are their experiences?

Thanks so much in advance!! :D

I've never used a service. I just use some brilliant people in my life to edit my essays. My sister and dad are both highly educated and excellent writers, and I also have friends who are teachers. I ask all of them to look at my work and offer editing advice as well as critiques of my writing style, ability to address the topic etc.

Do you have friends or family who are competent in this area and whose judgement you trust?

Why don't you ask some of your instructors (definitely your former English instructor, or the director of Language Arts) to go over your rough draft.

Good luck! :)

I used an online service and it was not good. I was happier asking an old english teacher to look it over.

I usually go to the writing center that is free for students.
