This is my third year with malpractice insurance and I am up for renewal with NSO. I would like to be sure that the malpractice insurance will actually be effective if I were to require it. Has anyone actually had to use their malpractice insurance? Which company have you used/recommend?
Thanks

I generally recommend the CNA insurance policy as sold by NSO and others. I have handled many nursing malpractice claims for my employed nurses; none of them have ever had to use their personal malpractice policies. A small number have used the 'licensure defense' coverage of the policy when the BON has filed a complaint against their license.
