I’ve been looking at avenues to use my clinical Nursing knowledge (9 years in ICU) in a different way. After 2 years in a pandemic and two kids under 3 at home, I need more work life balance.
Legal nurse consulting seems like a great option for me and the ‘Legal nurses rock’ program looks pretty comprehensive. I don’t love that they’re not transparent about their price (I STILL can’t find a price without arranging a ‘call’ with them) and I can’t find reviews online about the program. These both seem like red flags to me.
Has anyone tried this program and give insight about it? Are there any legal nurses out there with recommendations about which program to start with and how to get marketing included in it?
Thanks in advance!
Valerie
You're welcome! I don't want to see anyone unnecessarily lose money or be treated poorly. I know there are a couple of other LNCs who also do workshops/have programs (Kathy Ferrell, Lori Brown, Rachel Cartwright, etc), but I have not delved into that because I found what has been a good fit for me - and honestly, I've pretty much stayed away from LNC FB groups - I have not found them particularly helpful, and mostly I feel like I see a lot of egos, but again, everyone is different, so...
If you're able and pending all the COVID stuff, maybe try for the AALNC conference (perhaps in 2023). The WVUOV chapter is also a REALLY good resource - and it's open to anyone who is part of AALNC.
Networking and marketing are usually the hardest part of getting up and running, and it can be challenging to find the right LNC mentor. Good luck!
Thanks so much for that info! When I found Janice I actually found a forensics nurse that runs a company in the SF Bay Area where I am, and reached out to her for mentoring. She wasn’t mentoring but hired me to train as a forensics nurse with her and it’s been really fun learning from her. I really don’t like the MLM vibe and don’t have facebook anymore so I haven’t explored those and was already wary of them.
Through the AALNC I’ve found two other LNCs with 20+ years experience that have been SO kind and helpful which has been so refreshing and more than I expected.
I’ll check out the WVUOV chapter too! I joined the BACNC chapter but that’s nice to know that we can network within others. Networking and marketing are not things that come naturally to me so I appreciate the tips ?
thank you!
I too have been looking at starting this program but haven't yet bit the bullet for similar reasons. However, LNC is something I've been interested in for so long but have come up empty bc I didn't know how to get started. So, do you have any tips on where to begin if you go it alone? I'm definitely planning on becoming a member of AALNC, after reading these posts, but other tips?
I put most of my suggested resources on my Jan. 17 comment…
This is where I would recommend starting:
LNCExchange listserv (~$65/year)
AALNC (National chapter) and then local/online chapters (you have to be a member of AALNC before you join these). The WVUOV chapter is online and has a mentor program. The Florida chapter also has some online options and a mentor program as well. If you’re in California the local chapter is BACNC - their meetings are usually in the South Bay.
There are some private LNCs that have their own programs which are a bit more transparent about costs/offering:
Pat Iyer
Kathy Ferrell
Lori Brown
Rachel Cartwright
*there are probably others-
My recommendation is to start with the LNCExchange listserv AND AALNC (choose a local or online chapter)- those connections should give you a solid starting place to begin networking.
Hope that helps.
I am in the program now and I love it. They are very transparent with the ins and outs of being a LNC and running your own LNC business. I find the comrade of the group fosters a great atmosphere of learning and support with other like minds. I know I will be successful as an entrepreneur and LNC because if Legal Nurses Rock! Rock On!
I took Janice's certicate program 1 year ago. It's a quick intro to LNC. I gained a lot from it and you get to keep the videos/learnings forever. I spent the last year looking into many other programs including, AALNC mentorships. I reached out via the SIGs and never received a response from the AALNC programs. I wanted to do as much on my own for cost reasons but at the end of the day I got nowhere. I joined Janice's Mastery program a few weeks ago and I am already halfway through my first sample case. There are weekly group calls where you can get advice. The only regret I have is not doing it sooner. I know I will be successful. The cost is an issue for many but the price is less than most other programs. I honestly feel the investment is worth it. Most businesses cost a lot more to start and in any business you will need to invest in it first.
I have never seen Janice promoting an MLM or anything like that which someone else mentioned. You can set up a call and chat about the program with one of her LNCs. Everything has been very transparent.
I finished the Legal Nurses Rock Mastery Program back in September and I loved it! I learned so much and gained so much confidence in myself that I started the Biz Growth program right after so I could build my own business. To have a mentor with you for 12 months while you are building a business is priceless! I had not seen any programs out there that would do that. This is one happy LNC over here!
That’s great that some people have had a good experience. Others have not. I know that in the past she has terminated people’s access to her content after they have paid her large sums of money.
As far as promoting MLMs, she states that she has been involved in them in the past and has recruited people from her LNC groups to join LegalShield/IDShield under her, which makes HER a lot of money.
It is also typical that once she finds a negative review for her business she tries to have them scrubbed.
Again, it’s great that some people have found it beneficial. Others have not. It does not have to be a “one-size fits all”.
Hi all! I am actually in the Legal Nurses Rock Mastery and Biz Growth program and have LOVED it. The community is amazing and they are always adding new content and events. There are weekly calls which are gold and I couldn't recommend it more. I have gone from full time, to part time, and soon to be per diem so I can continue to put more of myself into my business. I am starting to get busy and it is so exciting to see it evolve. I now get more time with my family, am moving away from the physical and mental challenges of night shift, and get to make my own schedule! It is challenging and a lot of work, but they give you the tools and support to be successful if you stay the course. I looked into some other programs but they paled in comparison to what I was experiencing in LNR. Highly recommend looking into it further and speaking with others that are actually in the program before you make a decision that it's not for you. As someone who talks to Janice and her team multiple times throughout the week, she is a great person/mom/nurse that has experienced success and wants to share that with other nurses.

I believe you are mistaken. As someone who is IN HER PROGRAM, she has never pushed anything on us. She recommends products that she has used in her business but it is up to us to take the steps to set it up and there are no links or promo codes to use that would allow her to get credit for it. Although, maybe she should cause LegalShield was tremendously helpful to me and made setting up my LLC and contracts a breeze vs others in the program that went other routes and struggled.

Thank you for taking the time to write this reply.. it honestly was my gut feeling about her based on her website, books on Amazon etc. Her programs are not cheap and I consider it an investment, but I want to make sure that the program I’m in is aligned with my values (which what you described is certainly not!).
I already did join the AALNC and have found it to be a great resource! I do think there are other good sources available and am finding more now including Pat Iyer.
Thank you again!!
