I need to take AP I & AP II at the same time so I can get into the nursing program the following semester. Has anyone done this and how hard was it?
Thanks,
Jen
That would be very very hard to do well. I am finishing up A and P II now and it's just way to much to handle at the same time. It's a bummer that you will have to wait longer, but believe me, it's not worth trying unless you don't work and have no kids and have lots of time to dedicate to this.
At my school you can do both in one semester if you do split term classes. I considered doing it, term 1 would be A&P I meeting 4 times a week for 3 hours with lab twice a week for 2 hours, term 2 would be same thing for A&P II. I decided against it when I realized that split term was considered 4 weeks I couldnt imagine...
Keep in mind most programs (at least mine) look at GPA. So dont do it if you cant pull A's. Speaking for myself, I wanna keep my 4.0, and I wouldnt take a chance at risking a B for anything. The average GPA for my program is 3.7. So dont overwhelm yourself and rush these classes. They are your foundation for nursing. Probally the most important classes we have to take. Dont just take the class......learning the material is more important!
Good Luck!!!
I took both last fall. The local CC ran them consecutively, 8 wks A&P I then 8 wks A&P II. I was in class ALL DAY every Saturday, from 8AM to 4PM, but I was able to pull A's in both. :) I was also working part time and have two kids under four.
I worked my tail off as it was a lot of information and the professor didn't dumb it down (he was actually a professor at Boston University, and said he ran the class the same as his BU class!). I just got my acceptance to my accelerated 2nd BSN program today (which I would not have gotten into if I hadn't done both classes last fall), so it was DEFINITELY worth it!!
Good luck!!

I am a VCC student and I did them separate semesters. I think it is possible but would require alot of focus and determination. You need to be a good test taker too. If you are a good student I'd say go for it. If you struggle I'd say space them out.
