Has Anyone Received a WCCCD Nursing Acceptance or Denial Letter Yet?

Updated:   Published

I was hoping to know if I was accepted in the Spring program before fall registration. Now I am hoping to have an answer before fall classes begin. Has anyone heard anything?

I called the nursing office yesterday (8-19-11) and they told me that the committee met last week and they are "hoping" to mail out letters next week. If the woman above my post did get her "happy" letter, maybe they are mailing out the letters 1st to those that are accepted and then to those that didn't get accepted! I'm freaking out here!!!!!!

I am freaking out as well!! But out of all us that has been posting here and I know 4 others that also applied in june, it seems kind of strange that none of us received a happy or sad letter. Just a thought:)

I was at the NW campus yesterday and decided to drop by the nursing office myself and asked about when our letters and when they're going out, Dr. Doresea Lewis herself, the dean of nursing told me that letters wont be going out for anyone till possibly next week or the week after. I think someone was just trying to tease us or rattle our nerves by saying that they got in.

Lilianne I agree with you totally!!! I think it is someone with a sick joke in mind to see how many of us can be rattled!!

By the way I was looking thru my info and its based on a 100 pt system: 60 pts for a gpa of 3.8-4 and they take anatomy 1&2 , micro, English119 and bio grades to get ur gpa or ur cumulative gpa with your co-reqs included which ever is higher ...10 pts for 90 -100,on reading part on the teas 8 pts for 80-89 6 pts for 70-79 4 pts for 60-69& 2.5 for 50-59, and then they add same pts for the math part..10 pts for taking all classes there, 5 pts for having health care experience and a license 2.5 if u only have a license (cpr licence counts) 5 pts for having ur coreq done 2.5 for having half done. The cut-off last semester was 77.5 points.

Just spoke to someone from the nursing office and they said that letters will 100% be going out this week! I'm so nervous!!!! :redbeathe

Thanks for the update! Good Luck!

Letters got mailed out today! good luck everyone!

Lilianne, you are so efficient, and task focused, you will make a great nurse!:nurse:

Thank you and good luck!!!

Hello, I also applied to the January 2012 program. When I went to the information meeting about the point system, the instructor spent 2 minutes going over it. She didnt even give us enough time to write it down. I have 88 credits but my gpa is 3.5, do you know how many points that is worth? I do not have any health experience and I did not know I could of turned in my CPR license...ugh...Well anyways Good Luck... Our class really didnt learn about all the points we could get.....Thanks

I've known people that got in with a 3.5 gpa but your points also depend on your teas score and if you took all your classes at Wcccd and if not how many did you take there? They give partial points for having taken some classes at Wcccd.
