Hello!

Has anyone hard about personalized learning RN-BSN at Northern Arizona University?

It is where you can take as many classes as you want within the 6 months period. It's like you pay for subscription. However, you have to finish those classes in 6 months in order to earn those credits.

If anyone is in the program or has taken this program, please share I would like to know pros and cons.

Thank you so much

Specializes in ICU, CCRN.

I graduated in 2018. There were exams but they didn't require to go to the testing center.

Hi! did anyone complete this program yet?? was curious on if there were any exams? I'm located in a part of Colorado that doesn't have any testing centers within a couple hours from me so I was looking for a program that required little to no proctored exams! I have heard NAU's online RN-BSN doesn't require many (if any) as it is mostly papers! is this true??

please let me know ?

Thank you so much for your response! How were the exams taken? Did you have to use a proctoring website?? I have not heard good things about proctoring sites as they typically require you to download a bunch of software that gives them access to your computer system... Or were these exams simply taken using the honor code??

No I didn’t have to download anything but Firefox and Google chrome worked best. Exams were more like a quiz to me. I had to create a signature by using my mouse pad to draw my signature to prove that’s me taking quizzes/exams. Not complicated at all.

Thank you! :) If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take you to complete the RN to BSN program at NAU? I read on their website that, because it is self-paced, one person completed all 33 credits in only 6 months! Was wondering if the price ($3700 every 6 mo.) is worth it?

Don’t mind to answer at all! I completed my RN-BSN within 2 subscriptions. It’s worth the money. E-books came with the subscription and no hidden fee. Only thing to keep in mind is that if you pass the class, you will receive a letter grade “B“ but if you aim for “A”, then you have to do extra work like one or two PowerPoint presentations.

Thank you so much for all of your help! I was hoping to complete the program within 2 subscriptions as well! Was it difficult/time consuming? Or was it comparable with going to school "full-time" or "part-time"? Also, are these powerpoint presentations that difficult that it'll really make the difference between a B and an A? Again, thanks so much for your insight ?

Classes were doable. Not too bad! PowerPoint was not difficult either. From what I understand, if you get B from all classes, you will receive GPA Of 3.0 which is good. However, some people want to have their GPAs above 3, in case they decide to go to competitive MSN programs later.

Sorry I had another question! I was wondering how difficult/time consuming it was to complete all of the university's requirements to obtain a bachelors, such as the liberal studies, junior writing, senior capstone, and diversity credits??? It seems like a lot more courses, are these classes also included in the $3700 subscription? Thanks in advance :)

What is your highest degree? Are you an RN?

I'll be graduating next week with my RN! I should be taking my NCLEX in a few months then I wanted to do the online RN-BSN personalized learning at NAU. I'm not located in Arizona or go to NAU so I havent taken any of their university requirements yet. I'd like to build up my resume and work full time once I am licensed, which is why I wanted to do the personalized learning program so I can work and still take BSN courses at the same time.

If you have an ADN then you should have patho, nutrition, and stats already. But if not, you can take those classes during your subscription. I do not know if they change any requirements yet. But I suggest to call NAU, they are really helpful.
