Has anyone heard about personalized learning RN-BSN at NAU

Updated:   Published

Hello!

Has anyone hard about personalized learning RN-BSN at Northern Arizona University?

It is where you can take as many classes as you want within the 6 months period. It's like you pay for subscription. However, you have to finish those classes in 6 months in order to earn those credits.

If anyone is in the program or has taken this program, please share I would like to know pros and cons.

Thank you so much

Did you ever find out any more info about this program or maybe start it ? I'm looking to start it but I would love a little more insight ! I can't find any reviews or much information on it !

Yes I'm in the program right now. The program is awesome and cheap. Basially, you pay for 6 months subscription for around $2.700 (Ebooks included already) and you can take as many classes as you'd like. If you just want to pass the class, you will receive a B. But if you aim for an A, then you would have to complete "mastery" which is pretty much creating a powerpoint of what you've learned on that topic.

If you're not on financial aid, you have an option to complete a pre-test which lets you skip the whole lesson (it means you understand that lesson and you can skip it).

So, no group work since everyone's on their own schedule? Do you still have to post to ongoing discussion boards? And how does the capstone course work for this program? Thanks for any additional information you can offer!

That's very similar to how WGU's program is. Very interesting that another school has adopted that idea!

I was told today that it is approx. $3700 for 6 months and it is like you are in a class of 1. There isn't a teacher for every class like a traditional online RN-BSN. You have a personal faculty advisor that you submit all questions to. No books to rent/buy everything is online. I am thinking this is what I am going to do but I was hoping to find more personal reviews on it. Anyone?

I mistyped the tuition rate. I finished 12 credits for the first subscription. So far, It has been good.

if you receive financial aid, they want you to do some kinda coursework every week. It is pretty much up to you if you want to do discussion board or not.

how many hours did you put in to complete the 12 credits?

Also how hard are the assessments and what score do you need to pass? thanks

Did anyone complete the program? if so how was it and would you recommend it? Any tips to applying?

Hi! did anyone complete this program yet?? was curious on if there were any exams? I'm located in a part of Colorado that doesn't have any testing centers within a couple hours from me so I was looking for a program that required little to no proctored exams! I have heard NAU's online RN-BSN doesn't require many (if any) as it is mostly papers! is this true??

please let me know :)
